Sins Of The Father: Sins of the father

02/06/11  ||  Lord K Philipson

“The album features 11 tracks of Sins trademark power, groove and attitude and is tipped to be the hottest local metal release of 2011.”

That’s what it says. I guess not many albums get released Down Under in 2011 if that prophecy is to ring true, huh? Being labeled as “stoner death metal sons” (so they got a few Mary Jane leafs printed in this digipack… Wow. How people can be proud of being fucken potheads is beyond me). Anyways, SOTF play some quite tedious metal in which I hear exactly none of the “death” the press sheet claimed was there. Quite shitty hardcore-ish vocals on top of some happy-go-lucky semi-thrash with a few somewhat slower parts thrown in (not “slower” as in “stoner metal” though). These Australians aren’t terrible, but both their band name and the album cover is better than their actual music is. You need not give a fuck about this band, really.

3,5/10: Becoz kangaroos are cool and Crocodile Dundee likes the cock.
